001-168 At ~Hof

Hi all,

Sheltering from the torrential rain inside the depot at Hof it was to be like this for two days it never stopped, and the light was atrocious. We had just arrived after the mammoth journey across West Germany on the 22.19 from Dortmund to Hof. Standing on the turntable is class 001-168 Pacific just arrived from Lichtenfels and the engine that brought us on the Lichtenfels to Hof leg of the journey now being put away into the shed out of the rain.
We were to visit many of the depots in West Germany and never encountered any hostility’s. The staff were quite happy to let us roam about taking photographs, it seemed a national pastime. The Germans are nuts about railways
