Picture of the Week: RH&DR

I took these 2 pictures on a group visit to the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway in 2010 and some of you were there. The first is of number 8 Hurricane on a train from Hythe approaching Dungeness with it’s typical wooden houses and wonderful landscape which includes of all things a nuclear power station, 2 light houses, shingle beaches and if your interested in such things the diverse wild flowers and plants that can only be seen here, oh and a pub, it really is a fascinating place. The wind always seems to be blowing even on a nice day. I took this picture to include the washing line by the black house being blown all over the place and the dry shingle in the foreground. The second picture is of number 1 Green Goddess at New Romney having just taken water working a Hythe to Dungeness train. Lots of interesting people about doing things they do on holiday or days out. The engine is immaculate. 28th July 2010.
