Picture of the Week: 44871/45407 Chirk

Stood at Chirk station waiting to take a picture of this train last week but the sun came out and was completely in the wrong place. I then found out it was over an hour late so set off to find a more suitable location and here it is. Not to bad really, looking through some ones terrace overlooking the valley. 44871 and 45407 are seen crossing the bridge next to the canal viaduct which is out of sight on the other side of the railway bridge south of Chirk on the Shrewsbury Chester line. This is the 07.30 from Bristol Temple Meads to Chester via the Severn Tunnel, Newport and Hereford. The other picture is of it standing in the station. Both engines are taking on water from a road tanker.
